The company’s acquisition by Loblaw/Shoppers Drug Mart in 2016 marked a milestone in his entrepreneurial journey, freeing Al to focus on community-driven investments.
Through his company, Impact UPstream Ventures Inc., Al now channels his expertise into legacy projects that foster economic growth, innovation, and civic pride. His vision for 2041 Harvey Ave—a world-class, mass timber conference centre and hotel—reflects his deep belief in Kelowna’s potential as a destination for national and international business, tourism, and culture.
